The NDP gained one net riding, reaching 25 seats and rising to 17.8% of the popular vote.
There were gains in Edmonton Griesbach, Nanaimo—Ladysmith, and Port Moody—Coquitlam. But losses in Hamilton Mountain and St. John’s East.
The NDP finished second in 76 ridings. But only nine races were within 5%:

Hamilton Mountain, ON
Halifax, NS
Parkdale—High Park, ON
Spadina—Fort York, ON
