Canada Announces Retaliatory Measures Against U.S. Metal Tariffs
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland speak with reporters in Ottawa about the Trump administration's decision to impose tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum imports. Canada will impose tariffs on imports of steel, aluminum, and other products from the U.S. up to a value of $16.6 billion CAD in retaliation. The Canadian tariffs will take effect on July 1 and will remain in place until the U.S. eliminates its measures against Canada.
