The committee conducts its clause-by-clause consideration of a private member’s bill (C-377) requiring public financial disclosure by labour organizations. Senators then turn their attention to the federal government's bill (C-2) regarding supervised injection sites. The following witnesses offer their viewpoints of the proposed legislation: Chuck Doucette (president of the Drug Prevention Network of Canada); Chris Grinham (co-founder of Safer Ottawa); Russell Maynard (program director of Insite); Richard Elliott (executive director of the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network); Bryan Larkin (member of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police's drug abuse committee); and Michael Spratt (member of the Criminal Lawyers' Association).
