COVID-19: Canada RespondsGreen Leader Discusses Pandemic Anniversary, Affordable Housing – March 11, 2021
In a news conference on Parliament Hill, Green Party Leader Annamie Paul discusses affordable housing and makes remarks on the first anniversary of the World Health Organization’s declaration of a COVID-19 pandemic. To date, more than twenty-two thousand Canadians have died of COVID-19. The Green leader is joined virtually by MP Paul Manly. Their party is calling on the federal government to immediately implement a residential tenant support benefit to address Canada's housing crisis. The benefit would protect tenants who are at risk of eviction due to income loss caused by the pandemic. Senator Kim Pate also takes part in the news conference. (no interpretation)
