Medial mogul Ted Rogers passed away on December 2, 2008, at the age of 75. He was the founder of Rogers Communications, which owns the Rogers cable TV, wireless, radio and magazine businesses, as well as the Toronto Blue Jays and five Citytv television stations.
A funeral was held at the Cathedral Church of St. James in Toronto, on December 9, 2008. Among the hundreds who paid their respects were Prime Minister Stephen Harper, former prime ministers Brian Mulroney and John Turner, as well as former Ontario premier Mike Harris.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife, Loretta, and their four children: Edward, Lisa, Melinda and Martha.
