COVID-19: Canada Responds
PM Justin Trudeau on COVID-19, Student Grants, Canada–China Relations
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addresses Canadians from outside his home in Ottawa on the federal government's response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic, including measures to assist students affected by the pandemic. The measures include the Canada Student Service Grant, which will provide a one-time payment to students and recent graduates who undertake volunteer work. Responding to questions from reporters, the prime minister responds to calls for the federal government to intervene and end the extradition case of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou in order to secure the release of two Canadians detained by China.
