COVID-19: Canada Responds
PM Trudeau on COVID-19, Johnson & Johnson Vaccine – April 13, 2021
On Parliament Hill, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discusses the federal government’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by Dominic LeBlanc (minister of intergovernmental affairs), Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada’s chief public health officer, and Dr. Howard Njoo, deputy chief public health officer. The prime minister faces questions on the United States’ decision to suspend the use of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine after at least six cases of blood clots were reported. He says Health Canada is currently looking at the situation and that a decision on the country’s use of the vaccine will be made eventually. The first shipments of this vaccine are scheduled to arrived in Canada at the end of April.
