COVID-19: PM on Research Funding, Need for Social Distancing – March 23, 2020
Speaking with reporters from his home in Ottawa, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau discusses the federal government's response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, including the provision of $275 million in funding for medical research and development. The prime minister also urges Canadians to practise social distancing in order to slow the spread of the virus and comments on the possible use of federal enforcement measures such as provisions in the Emergencies Act and Quarantine Act.
