Design Competition for Parliament’s Block 2 Buildings
Board of Internal Economy - October 8, 2020: MPs receive an update about the Parliament Hill renovations, hear about an upcoming convention of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF), and discuss financial reports. Conservative MP Bruce Stanton, the chair of the Working Group on the Centre Block, who discusses an upcoming architectural design competition for parliament’s ‘Block 2’ buildings. Stanton, also the co-chair of the Joint Interparliamentary Council, is joined by Liberal MP Francis Drouin, chair of the Canadian Branch of the Assemblée parlementaire de la Francophonie, brief the committee about a request from APF to host a conference in Montreal in in the year 2022.
