Labour Minister Seamus O’Regan takes questions from reporters following the introduction of the government’s new bill to ban the use of replacement workers in federally-regulated workplaces during a strike or lockout. Bill C-58 would amend the Canada Labour Code and the Canada Industrial Relations Board Regulations of 2012. The minister is joined at the news conference on Parliament Hill by Senator Hassan Yussuff, the former president of the Canadian Labour Congress, Alexandre Boulerice, the NDP's labour critic, and Lana Payne, national president of Unifor. The NDP called for the introduction of anti-scab legislation as part of the party’s confidence-and-supply agreement with the Liberals. (no interpretation)
