In Victoria, British Columbia Premier John Horgan announces that the province’s public auto insurer will offer residents a one-time gas rebate of $110. Residents with commercial vehicles will be able to receive a rebate of $165. The rebate will address the higher price of gas due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine and will total over $395 million. Premier Horgan is joined virtually by Mike Farnworth, the province’s public safety minister and solicitor general. In response to questions from reporters, Premier Horgan comments on the role of B.C.s public auto insurer, the province's steps to address future gas price increases, and the supply-and-confidence agreement between the federal Liberal and New Democratic parties.
