PM Trudeau on Manufacturing Support, Foreign Election Interference

In Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Tim Houston announce that their governments are partnering with tire manufacturer Michelin to support a $300- million modernization project for the company’s manufacturing facilities in the province. They are joined by federal ministers Sean Fraser (immigration, refugees and citizenship) and François-Philippe Champagne (innovation, science and industry) as well as Alexis Garcin (president and CEO, Michelin North America). The prime minister responds to questions on calls for a public inquiry to examine foreign election interference and the timeline for the appointment of a special rapporteur to examine such meddling in Canada’s electoral system.
