Quebec Reintroduces Curfew Amid Case Surge – December 30, 2021
In Montreal, Quebec Premier François Legault imposes new measures to curb the major COVID-19 case increase. He is joined by Christian Dubé, provincial minister of health and social services, as well as Dr. Horacio Arruda, the province's director of public health. As of December 31, a provincewide mandatory curfew will be in place from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. All private gatherings will be restricted to the "family bubble." All schools will remain closed until January 17. The premier also announces the full closure of all restaurants. All retail stores, subject to exceptions, must refrain from doing business on Sundays. The government is also considering extending the scope of its vaccine passport. (no interpretation)
