Advocates Urge National Plan to Better Protect Refugee Claimants – April 4, 2024

The Canadian Council for Refugees hosts a news conference in Ottawa to mark National Refugee Rights Day. Gauri Sreenivasan (co-executive director, Canadian Council for Refugees), Loly Rico (founder, FCJ Refugee Centre), Allan Reesor McDowell (executive director, Matthew House Ottawa), and Jenny Jeanes (detention program coordinator, Action Réfugiés Montréal and vice-president, Canadian Council for Refugees) are calling on the federal government to create a national plan that addresses the growing number of refugee claimants and ensures the right to asylum.
