Headline PoliticsAuditor General Discusses Reports on McKinsey, Federal Green Fund, Cybercrimes

Canada’s auditor general Karen Hogan speaks with reporters on Parliament Hill following the tabling of three performance audits in the House of Commons.

The first report focused on whether the federal government obtained “value for money” through its contracts with McKinsey & Company. Hogan's office finds a flouting of rules by the federal government when it comes to the awarding of contracts to the consulting firm. The second audit finds significant lapses in the handling of federal funding by Sustainable Development Technology Canada. The final report outlines the lack of capacity and tools of the RCMP, CSE, the CRTC, and Public Safety Canada to adequately combat cybercrimes. (June 4, 2024)
