The Canadian Congress of Black Parliamentarians holds a news conference on Parliament Hill to brief reporters on their two-day summit. The group of over 40 attendees from all levels of government met in Ottawa from August 10 to 11 to establish priorities and propose solutions for bettering the lives of Black Canadians. Taking part in the press conference are Michael Coteau (MP for Don Valley East), Jamie Moses (MLA for St. Vital, Manitoba), Kathy McDonald (trustee, Peel District School Board), Shirley Dorismond (MNA for Marie-Victorin, Quebec), Colleen James (regional councillor, Waterloo), Tony Ince (MLA for Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia) and Charmaine Williams (MPP for Brampton Centre, Ontario).
