Jagmeet Singh on Dental-Care Expansion, Afghan Sikhs Evacuation

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh holds a news conference in Toronto to highlight the latest phase of the ongoing rollout of the Canadian Dental Care Plan, which will now cover children under the age of 18 and individuals with disabilities. The program is a core component of his party’s supply and confidence agreement with the Liberal government. Singh is joined by Clare Hacksel, the NDP candidate for Toronto–Danforth.

The NDP leader is asked about the recent federal byelection in Toronto-St.Paul's and former Calgary mayor Naheed Nenshi's victory in the Alberta NDP leadership race. Singh also responds to questions about then-defence minister Harjit Sajjan's decision to relay information to the Canadian Armed Forces about rescuing Afghan Sikhs during the fall of Kabul in 2021.
