Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett and Justice Minister David Lametti speak with reporters at the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, Quebec, following the closing ceremony of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

The inquiry issued its 1,200-page final report during the ceremony. The report includes 231 calls for justice and the conclusion that the violence that the Inquiry heard about "amounts to a race-based genocide of Indigenous Peoples, including First Nations, Inuit and Métis, which especially targets women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA people."
