Jagmeet Singh on Abortion Access, Bloc Deadline – October 28, 2024
Speaking with reporters in Toronto, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh discusses his party’s opposition day motion calling for improved access to abortion services. He is joined by Leah Gazan, the NDP critic for women and gender equality, and Samantha Green, the NDP candidate for Toronto Centre. Responding to questions from reporters, the NDP leader comments on Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre’s policy proposal that would remove the GST on new homes sold under $1 million. Singh also faces questions on the October 29 Bloc Québécois’ deadline for the government to pass two pieces of legislation. The Bloc has made the passage of a private member's bill on supply management and another on Old Age Security payments as preconditions for supporting the minority Liberal government.
