Minister Sean Fraser Discusses Housing Accelerator Fund – October 23, 2023

On Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Housing Minister Sean Fraser provides an update on the federal Housing Accelerator Fund and highlights some of the best practices that are being pursued by municipalities who are eligible for this funding. To date, formal agreements have been reached with London, Halifax, Vaughan, Brampton and Hamilton under the $4-billion fund that was launched in March 2023. Some of the best practices among eligible municipalities have included getting rid of exclusionary zoning and also making available municipally-owned land for the construction of new housing units.
