Ontario Govt Introduces Bill to Restore Greenbelt Lands – October 16, 2023

In a news conference at Queen’s Park, Ontario Housing Minister Paul Calandra discusses legislation that would return parcels of land to the Greenbelt and codify its boundaries. The tabling of the bill comes one week after the RCMP announced it was launching an investigation into the province’s decision to open parts of protected Greenbelt lands for housing development. Premier Doug Ford backtracked on the decision in September and apologized for breaking his promise not to touch the Greenbelt. (no interpretation)
