Ontario Premier Doug Ford Discusses Essex and Windsor Highway Projects
Ontario Premier Doug Ford takes questions from reporters in Essex following an announcement about the start of construction for the final phase to widen Highway 3 between Essex and Leamington. His government is also investing $50 million to build an interchange at Banwell Road and E.C. Row Expressway in Windsor. The area is expected to see an increase in traffic when the NextStar Energy battery plant opens.
The premier is joined by provincial ministers Prabmeet Sarkaria (transportation) and Peter Bethlenfalvy (finance), as well as Andrew Dowie, MPP for Windsor–Tecumseh, Dennis Rogers, mayor of Kingsville, and Drew Dilkens, mayor of Windsor.
Ford faces questions from reporters on topics including the province's review of supervised consumption and treatment sites, the fourth anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Windsor's failure to meet its housing target for 2023.
