PM Trudeau on B.C. Battery Facility, Israel-Hamas War, Canada-China Relations
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Columbia Premier David Eby announce that E-One Moli will construct a $1-billion lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing facility in Maple Ridge. They are joined by federal ministers François-Philippe Champagne (innovation, science and industry), and Jonathan Wilkinson (energy and natural resources), B.C. minister Brenda Bailey (jobs, economic development and innovation), and Maple Ridge Mayor Dan Ruimy, as well as E-One Moli Energy representatives Nelson Chang (chairman, TCC Group) and Frank So (executive vice president).
The prime minister faces questions from reporters on the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, Canada's relations with China, and whether Canada will commit to listing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist entity. (November 14, 2023) (no interpretation)
