Tariffs: Quebec Premier François Legault Believes We Must Remain on Guard

In Montreal, Quebec Premier François Legault talks to journalists the day after President Donald Trump announced reciprocal tariffs. He says that while Quebec and Canada have been relatively spared, everyone must remain on their guard. He believes Canada needs to be cautious about imposing counter-tariffs and supports Prime Minister Mark Carney’s approach. Recently back from a trip to Germany, the premier states that Quebec needs to move closer to European Union countries and that we need to stop putting all our eggs in one basket, referring to the dependence on the United States.
