Jagmeet Singh Promises to End Tax Havens – April 4, 2025

Surrounded by Montreal candidates, NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh pledges to put an end to tax havens and to close loopholes that allow companies to avoid paying their share of taxes. He raises concerns over Liberal Leader Mark Carney for his ties to the Brookfield fund. Singh promises to review current laws and end tax treaties with jurisdictions considered to be tax havens. In response to a question from journalists, he reaffirms his opposition to the Quebec government’s Bill 21. (no interpretation)
