At a campaign stop in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Que., Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet pledges to introduce a bill when the House of Commons returns that would require the Canadian government to include negotiators designated by the Quebec government on the team tasked with renegotiating the free trade agreement between Canada and the United States. He states that other provinces are free to make the same request. In response to questions from journalists, Blanchet said he doubted the Liberal leader’s commitment to protecting supply management.
