ArriveCan Costs Spiral - February 12, 2024

Auditor General Karen Hogan has presented a devastating report on the implementation of ArriveCan during the pandemic. Originally expected to cost $80,000, the application cost Canadian taxpayers nearly $60 million. In fact, the program was so poorly managed that the Auditor General was unable to establish the exact cost, calling it "a flagrant failure to follow basic management practices". But what explains such cost overruns? Esther Bégin speaks with Karen Hogan.
