St. John's East and St. John's South–Mount Pearl
CPAC’s Martin Stringer visits the city of St John’s, Newfoundland, where all eyes will be on the two federal ridings in this provincial capital on election day. Continuing outmigration, a sluggish economy and an unpopular provincial government are working against the two incumbents in St. John’s South- Mount Pearl and St. John’s East. Seamus O’Regan, the minister of Indigenous services and the Liberal candidate, is facing off against the Conservative Terry Martin and the New Democrat Anne Marie Anonsen in the riding of St. John’s South - Mount Pearl.
Meanwhile, a rematch is taking place in neighbouring St. John’s East, where the incumbent Nick Whalen is battling his old foe, the New Democrat Jack Harris. The former mayor of Pouch Cove Joedy Wall is the Conservative candidate, and the Greens are represented by David Peters.
