My Personal Story
Patty Hajdu
Status of Women minister Patty Hajdu takes CPAC’s Jacqueline Milczarek on a visit to Shelter House in Thunder Bay, Ontario where Hajdu worked as executive director before getting elected as Liberal MP for the riding of Thunder Bay-Superior North in 2015. Hajdu grew up in Thunder Bay on the shores of Lake Superior and earned her BA at Lakehead University. She spent several years with Thunder Bay’s Public Health department where she developed a deep understanding of issues related to homelessness, poverty and addiction. To get away from it all, Hajdu likes to take refuge on the slopes of nearby Loch Lomond where she snowboards for a few hours whenever she can. Hajdu talks to Milczarek about her passion for helping the disadvantaged and how she hopes to bring that passion to her work in the Trudeau cabinet.
