PM Trudeau Responds to Daughters of the Vote Protests
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is asked by reporters about the protests that took place during the Daughters of the Vote event. Today 338 young women between the ages of 18 and 23, each representing a federal riding, took their seats in the House of Commons. Several participants rose and turned their backs to the prime minister during his speech. The Daughters of the Vote initiative was created by Equal Voice Canada to encourage women to participate in politics. (April 3, 2019) (no interpretation)
