Reaction to Supreme Court Ruling on Canada’s Military Justice System
Speaking with reporters in Ottawa, Col. Bruce MacGregor (director of military prosecutions) and Col. Jean-Bruno Cloutier (defence counsel) react to the Supreme Court of Canada’s ruling on R v. Stillman. In a 5-2 decision, the court found that members of the military do not have a constitutional right to a trial by jury, and may be tried exclusively by a military tribunal.
