Pre-Study of New NAFTA Deal Begins
International Trade - February 5, 2020: The committee begins its pre-study of Bill C-4, an act to implement the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA), the new North American free trade deal. Appearing before the committee is the Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development’s (DFATD) Steve Verheul, who provides an overview of key provisions and overall objectives of the bill. Also appearing before the committee is the DFATD’s Martin Thornell as well as the Department of Agriculture and Agri-Food’s Aaron Fowler.
