B.C. Health Minister Addresses Allegations of Racist Practices by Hospital Staff
British Columbia Health Minister Adrian Dix holds a news conference in Vancouver to discuss allegations of racist practices by hospital employees in the province. Some emergency room staff allegedly played a game to guess the blood-alcohol levels of patients, in particular of Indigenous people. The minister says he has asked Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond, B.C.'s former children's advocate, to investigate the allegations. (June 19, 2020) (no interpretation)
