Federal Officials Provide Update on Recent Cyberattacks – August 17, 2020
At a news conference on Parliament Hill, officials from the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, the Canada Revenue Agency, and the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security comment on recent cyberattacks that targeted thousands of CRA and GCKey online accounts. The CRA temporarily disabled online services in response to the attacks. Taking part in the briefing are Marc Brouillard (the acting chief information officer for the Government of Canada), Annette Butikofer (the chief information officer for the CRA) Scott Jones (the head of the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security), and Lori MacDonald (the chief operating officer for Service Canada).
