The committee continues its examination of pinniped (seals) populations and their impact on the ecosystem. Appearing as witnesses are Kilian Stehfest (David Suzuki Foundation), Murray Ned-Kwilosintun (Lower Fraser Fisheries Alliance), Jim McIsaac (BC Commercial Fishing Caucus), Jesse Zeman (B.C. Wildlife Federation), as well as Jen Shears and Glenn Blackwood as individuals.
Provincial fisheries ministers share their views on climate crisis and the impact of hurricane Fiona on Atlantic Canada. Margaret Johnson (government of New Brunswick), Derrick Bragg (government of Newfoundland and Labrador), Steve Craig (government of Nova Scotia), and Jamie Fox (government of Prince Edward Island) appear as witnesses. Mitchell Jollimore (Prince Edward Island Fishermen's Association) and Ariel Smith (Coastal Action) also testify.
