Appearing before the committee as witnesses are François Daigle (deputy minister of justice) and Owen Rees (acting assistant deputy attorney general), as well as RCMP officials Alison Whelan, Jolene Bradley, Chief Supt. Darren Campbell and Lia Scanlan.

Public Safety and National Security - July 25, 2022: MPs question Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair and RCMP Commissioner Brenda Lucki as the committee begins its hearings on alleged political interference in the investigation of the 2020 mass shooting in Nova Scotia. Allegations of interference by Commissioner Lucki emerged following the release of internal RCMP documents on June 21, 2022, at the ongoing public inquiry into the shooting. Blair was the minister of public safety at the time of the shooting.
