Citizenship Ceremony to Commemorate Flag Day
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau makes a special appearance at a virtual citizenship ceremony to commemorate National Flag Day of Canada and to mark Black History Month. He is joined by Sean Fraser (federal minister of immigration, refugees and citizenship), Daniel Bernhard (CEO of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship), Suzanne Carrière (a Métis citizenship judge), and Dr. Richard Vedan (associate professor emeritus at UBC’s School of Social Work). On February 15th 2015, Canadians marked the 50th anniversary of the Canadian flag at celebrations across the country. Puneet Birgi joined the Governor General and parliamentarians in Ottawa as they marked the special occasion.

Flag Day Ceremony: On February 15th, Paul Martin, Prime Minister of Canada, and Liza Frulla, minister of Canadian Heritage and minister responsible for Status of Women attended a special ceremony in Kingston, Ontario, to mark the 40th anniversary of the red and white maple leaf flag.
