King–Vaughan and Brampton East
CPAC’s Charelle Evelyn takes a look at the race in two suburban Toronto 905 ridings that could play pivotal roles on election day. Affordability, jobs and crime are all major issues in Brampton East where a wide open race is expected after the Liberal, Raj Grewal, was removed from caucus for his gambling addiction. He was replaced on the ballot by Maninder Sidhu, a trade consultant. The NDP candidate is Saranjit Singh, a labour lawyer. Ramona Singh, an entrepreneur, is the Conservative.
The issues are similar in neighbouring King–Vaughan where the incumbent Liberal Deborah Schulte, a former city councillor and aerospace engineer, is facing a stiff challenge from former bank manager and mortgage agent Anna Roberts for the Conservatives. The Green candidate is consulting engineer Anne Raney.
