Oakville North–Burlington and Mississauga–Streetsville

CPAC’s Laura DiBattista reports on two 905 ridings outside of Toronto that could help determine whether the Liberals are re-elected to a majority or if Andrew Scheer’s Conservatives take power. In Oakville North–Burlington, the Liberal incumbent is Pam Damoff, who won in 2015 by just over 2,000 votes. Her main challenger is the Conservative Sean Weir, a partner and vice-chair at one of this country’s biggest law firms, Borden Laidner Gervais.

In Mississauga–Streetsville, the incumbent Liberal is Gagan Sikand, who defeated the Conservative by just over 4,000 votes in 2015. This time around the Conservatives have nominated a new opponent, Ghada Melek, a senior manager at Deloitte. Samir Girguism, a family therapist, is the New Democrat. Chris Hill, a fleet manager for the city of Hamilton, is the Green Party candidate.
